On-Going Issues

Updated: 01 Apr 2012

 Lead Issues

VeteranVoice.info has selected the following lead issues. This list is not all inclusive. Rather due to the many issues facing veterans, disabled or not from their service to country, an exhaustive list of all outstanding problems would make it too difficult to action all. Hence, these issues have been selected as priorities.

Subscribers are encouraged to submit other issues, not listed here, which they asses to be high priority. As to ensure one short priority list at a time, for ease of addressing, subscribers are asked to provide substantiation.

New Veteran Charter (NVC)

Is the NVC really providing for the soldiers of today, the veterans of tomorrow?

This supposedly evolving charter has not changed from the day it came into law, 01 April 2006. It is mired with deficiencies for the new generation of wounded, injured and disabled veterans.

Supported by all major federal political parties, recommendations for changes to improve the legislation to better recognize the sacrifices made by Canadian soldiers, sailors and airmen/woman have gone un-actioned.  The NVC did not even address the existing deficiencies that already existed with VAC. The Charter was and remains strictly a political and bureaucratic  tool that was used by all federal political parties for their own selfish political agendas.

Your Canadian Forces (CF) service members, all volunteers in service to you, the tax payer and electorate, deserve much better then what the NVC offers. Changes, if not a complete rewrite, are a necessity to recognize and protect the selfless services of those serving members, disabled and no longer able to serve.

Canada can do much better then the existing NVC in caring for their disabled service personnel and veterans.

 VAC Down Sizing

"What VAC fails to acknowledge is that there is only one category of veterans, service members having voluntarily served in this country's military forces in time of war and peace, past, present and into the future."
